After a twelve-hour flight from Seoul, Pope Francis arrived to Rome's Ciampino airport and headed directly to the Basilica of St. Mary Major. ;
It's become part of the Pope's tradition, to visit the Patroness of Rome, before and after his international trips. He walked in with a bouquet of roses that were given to him by a Korean girl. ;
He then placed them under the image of Our Lady, before praying in silence. ;
Pilgrims and tourists who were visiting the site cheered him on as he left the Basilica. ;
