'If we really wish to be effective, we must implement a collective response based on a culture of solidarity, encounter and dialogue which should be at the basis of normal interaction in which requires the full responsible cooperation of all, according their possibilities and circumstances.

Cardinal Parolin stressed that it is useless to speak of reducing emissions if  people are not willing to change their lifestyle in, what he described as, 'the dominant models of consumption.â?

He also highlighted the efforts made by the Holy See and the Catholic Church in being more energy efficient.

'The Holy See attaches great importance to the need to promote education in environmental responsibility for an authentic human ecology. Many Catholic educational institutions, as well as Bishopsâ?? Conferences, dioceses, parishes and Catholic inspired NGOs are engaged in this areaâ?.

Caring for creation is a subject that is close to Pope Francis. His upcoming encyclical will deal with ecology and protecting the environment.
