One of the most impactful events of the upcoming Jubilee Year will take place on May 5th. The Pope will celebrate a vigil to 'dry the tears of those who suffer.

MONS. RINO FISICHELLA
Jubilee Organizer
'It will be a vigil of prayer. There are millions of people whom we interact with daily who carry in their hearts a profound suffering. Perhaps for an injustice they have suffered, or perhaps the hurt of many mothers, many fathers, grandparents and youth who have seen their family members leave the house and never come back. These are traffic accidents or the victims of gratuitous violence.

In August 2014, several of the Pope's family members passed away after a terrible car accident in Argentina.

POPE FRANCIS
August 20, 2014
'I too have a family. We were five siblings and I have 16 nieces and nephews. One of my nephews was involved in the car crash. His wife died and so did their two children: One was 2 years old, the other just a few months. My nephew is in critical condition. Thank you for your condolences and prayers.

With each Jubilee Year event, the Pope will demonstrate an act of mercy. At this Jubilee, he will show how to 'comfort those who suffer.
