With this solemn tone, the new French ambassador presented his credentials to the Pope.

'With all my respect, with the deepest of respect I have for you, I give you my predecessor, Mr. Bruno Joubert's, farewell letter. I also give you the letter that accredits me as Ambassador of France to the Holy See. These letters are signed by the President of the French Republic, Francois Hollande.

After almost a year and a half, France finally has an ambassador to the Holy See. The Gallic country had previously submitted an ambassador to the Holy See, despite pressure from France, he was not given a placement.

Philippe Zeller presented the Pope with some members of his family and staff from his delegation. The diplomat is married, has two children and was the former ambassador to Canada. He speaks English, French and German.
