On a hot Sunday morning, the hundreds of pilgrims gathered in St. Peter's Square took shelter from the sun under their umbrellas during the Pope's Angelus.

Pope Francis remembered the victims of the Nice attacks and condemned all acts of violence. He said that 'no man should dare shed the blood of his brother.

POPE FRANCIS
'Our hearts are filled with pain for the tragedy that took the lives of so many innocent people and children in Nice last Thursday. I am close to the families and I join in mourning with the French nation. I pray to God that He welcomes them into His peace.

On the other hand, in a brief homily, he encouraged people to learn to 'listen to each other, and to spend quality time with family and friends. He said in the 'virtue of listening we will find peace.

POPE FRANCIS
'Do you, husbands, have time to listen to your wives? And do you, wives, have time to listen to your husbands? Do you, parents, 'waste time listening to your children, to your grandparents, to the elderly? 'But my grandparents always say the same things, they are boring...' But they need to be heard! Listen. I ask you to learn to listen and to dedicate more time to each other.

Pope Francis encouraged people to listen also to forced migrants and marginalized people.

Before leaving, he saw a group carrying a Chinese flag and he greeted them.

POPE FRANCIS
'I see our Chinese brothers back there: a big hello to all of you!
