What if one could 'erase bad experiences from the past and have the possibility to start from zero? This is what the campaign 'Reset proposes through confession and reconciliation with God.

After years of being separated from the Church, several people talk about their reconciliation with God and confession. They say it helped them restart their life again and rid themselves of the heavy load they were carrying that wouldn't let them peacefully continue with their lives.

'We looked for different people who had a positive experience with the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The help of parish priests was important for facilitating contact with these people, who I think have been very brave. Many of them had not gone to confession for a long time and what they share are true conversion stories.

'I left there as a different person. I believe that at that moment, and through confession, God renewed me. It's hard in the beginning, as it makes you feel embarrassed, but the moment you see it through a different perspective at the end you say: 'No fear.' It's totally
the

opposite, because you remember what you have received. What I received in that first confession and what I felt, I wouldn't change it for anything.'

People of very different ages, environments and styles explain how confession has helped them find themselves and get rid of what they no longer needed in their lives.

'Those files, those photos, all that stuff that we say: 'It bothers me, it weighs me down', is filling our hard drive with useless things and I want to empty it to fill it with other things. We think this comparison can help many young people understand what the sacrament of reconciliation is.'

'Confession is like when you have a bottle of dirty water and you want to empty it and refill it to make it clean.'

'You can say to yourself, 'Oh Lord, how bad I feel!', But it is true that in the end, that need of 'I absolve you from your sins' is what we all need to hear.

'I have sometimes gone to the confessional with real heavy sins, thinking that they were going to throw me out of the church. Yet what I have found is a kind, understanding and affectionate person that has helped me to reconcile myself to God and also to myself.'

Sometimes people only need that: to feel understood, to leave behind the past through forgiveness towards oneself and... to start again.
