August 27, 2010. On August 26, 1978 italian cardinal Albino Luciani was elected Pope.

His first words were: “Yesterday morning I went to the Sistine Chapel to vote tranquilly. Never could I have imagined what was about to happen.” He died 33 days later, on September 28.
