March 9, 2011. (-ONLY VIDEO-) During the general audience, Benedict XVI explained the meaning of placing ashes on the forehead. He also noted that fasting, giving alms and prayer help to deepen faith. The pope said that Lent is a good time to renew the commitments acquired in Baptism.
