May 26, 2011. (Romereports.com) Caritas Internationalis has elected its new Secretary General for the next four years. His name is Michel Roy His work with Caritas France goes back 30 years, where his main focus has been promoting peace and financial development.
The other candidate was Karel Zelenka, who works as the a European representative for Catholic Relief Services.
The new secretary general speaks French, Spanish and English. He will follow Lesley-Anne Knight who served as secretary general from 2007-2011.
