YoutubeNovember 17, 2010. The Vatican has announced the launch of a new TV channel, a website and a mobile unit that will distribute HD images. This will allow future papal ceremonies to be transmitted in 3D. With these new tools, the Vatican aims to attract more people to events with the Pope and deliver his message in top quality.

The new website is a portal that will gather news published in all Vatican media: the newspaper L'Osservatore Romano, Vatican Radio and images from the Vatican's TV service CTV. The Pontifical Council for Social Communications will oversee the new website.

The new mobile unit will broadcast live images in HD. It's over 40 feet long and is divided into four areas, which include rooms for audio equipment and control rooms.

Another addition will be the Vatican's own TV channel on digital terrestrial television. This new station will be totally focused on Vatican City, and it will allow viewers to see live ceremonies without commentary.
