October 16, 2010. Why go to Florence, when its masterpieces can come to you? Italian company Haltadefinizione is turning the paintings of Florence's Uffizi Museum into extremely high definition images.
Works like this portrait of Eleonora di Toledo by Agnolo Bronzino are viewable in web gallery form three thousand times more detailed than if they were taken by a camera.
One can clearly see the creases in Mary's vestments in Leonardo Da Vinci's Annunciation… and Baccus' melancholy expression in Caravaggio's 16th century portrait.
The images will be available online until January 29th. So if you're a Renaissance art lover, this is one treasure trove that is just a few clicks away.
