YoutubeJuly 19, 2010. This work of art was just discovered in a Jesuit property in Rome, and it might have been painted by Caravaggio.

The painting is titled, “The Martyrdom of St. Lawrence” and has several of the Italian painter's characteristic features.  It shows similarities to other paintings by Caravaggio, such as “The Martyrdom of St. Matthew,” “Judith Beheading Holofernes” and “The Conversion of St. Paul.”

The authorship has not been confirmed yet, but the painting will undergo a battery of tests to determine if it's the work of one of the greatest artists in history.
