April 9, 2010. ‘Sorgente’ is one of the oldest stores in Rome that sells liturgical objects. Now it’s offering its clients a chance to get their hands on a unique replica of one of the most venerated objects in Valencia, Spain: the Holy Grail.
According to tradition, the chalice Jesus Christ used during the Last Supper is conserved in Valencia. John Paul II and Benedict XVI have used it in ceremonies they presided over in the Spanish city.

“The real Holy Grail, is only the piece on the inside. This is sort of like a safe they’ve made to preserve it and to be able to display it.”
It’s been several years since workers here contacted a goldsmith in Valencia who crafts replicas of the chalice. Since then they’re shipped to this store and sold world wide.

A special chalice that can help priests from all around the world celebrate Mass with a little more devotion, a chalice that could be identical to the one used by Jesus Christ.
