“The majority of cardinals decided to move in to Santa Martha on Tuesday morning at about 7 in the morning, the same day as the start of the conclave and the mass to elect a new Pope, which will be at 10 in the morning.”

Cardinals left Sunday open, to be able to visit their titular churches in Rome and celebrate Sunday mass. They will also be able to speak directly to the faithful and ask for prayer during this transitional period for the Church, across the world.

“It is very important for the faithful to know and see that they can take part in this preparation for the conclave through prayer with the cardinals. So there's nothing stopping the press from covering this event and allowing cardinals to send messages to their people through television.”

During the nine meetings so far, there have been 133 speeches from the cardinals. In the latest one, they came up with the schedule for the conclave. After the second day, there will be two fumatas, but they will not follow a set schedule, so the angst and suspense will be inevitable.

“The smoke comes from the burned ballots at the end of the votes, but not each individual one. Instead at the end of the morning vote and at the end of the evening vote. If there is no election or if an elections comes during the last vote of the morning or the evening, then the smoke will be at about 7 p.m. or noon. If there is an election in the first vote of the morning or evening, then the white smoke will come halfway through the morning or evening, so between 10:30 and 11 in the morning. And between 5:30 and 6 in the evening.”

In another note, the Vatican spokesperson confirmed that the Fisherman's ring and the official seals from Benedict XVI have been annulled
