April 28, 2012. (Romereports.com) According to the World Health Organization, there are more than 40
million abortions every year. Many pro-life initiatives are trying to
reduce this number. One of these groups will be releasing the movie “The
fantastic journey of Skiff and AJ”.
These two characters live in a church and are part of the “Altar Gang,” like a group of acolytes. Skiff is the recipient that contains the incense and AJ is the swab which is sprinkled with holy water. Every day the gang comes to life and lends a hand to the priest in the work of the parish.
One of their great adventures is a journey inside the body of a pregnant woman. They have to navigate their way so they don't end up in the lungs or stomach. AJ and Skiff discover the beauty of life when they find the unborn baby.
The movie is a project of Lumen Entertainment, an American company, created in 2003 which aims to entertain, educate and talk about God through cartoons.
They have several DVD's with cartoons teaching a message in favor of life. They also talk about what Advent is, the sacrament of Confession, and the importance of the First Communion.
On their website they show how the documents by the Church on the New Evangelization have guided them in their projects. That's why they have worked on making videos that can be used in schools and parishes for catechesis.
In March, they launched a project called “Spiritual Adoption,” meant to pray for an end to abortions. So far they have over one thousand people who have joined their cause.
The group's name 'Lumen' comes from the Latin word that means 'Light'. Their hope is to bring the light of the Gospel through animated cartoons.
