November 9, 2010. Anglican spiritual leader, Archbishop Rowan Williams of Canterbury will visit the Vatican on November 17th. His visit is in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of Christian Unity.
Metropolitan John Zizioulas of Pergamon, representing the Ecumenical Orthodox Patriarchate of Constantinople will also attend.
The Pontifical Council for Christian Unity was founded by Pope John XXIII in 1960 to promote dialogue between Christian faiths.
Swiss Bishop Kurt Koch of Basel is the current President of Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity.
