Backpacker unknowingly lands in Rome for Pope's last audience

YoutubeFebruary 28, 2013. (Romereports.com) He's been backpacking across the globe for two years, with only a few belongings and his savings. On Wednesday, he was in Rome, unaware of why so many people gathered in St. Peter's Square. He decided to check it out.

“It was really touching words. I don't know how to feel, what to think about this. 24:30 He spoke about silence and I have been thinking for sometime to make a promise of silence for someone 24:44 So big decision that I have to think it carefully.”

The Pope's words moved him in such a way he says he couldn't back tears.

 “I was crying. And the moment is strange because I don’t know what to think about the whole things with the Pope.”

He wasn't the only one. From the Pope to the audience, thousands of people cheered, clapped and even cried as they sent off Benedict XVI into retirement.
