May 24, 2010. During the prayer of Regina Coeli Benedict XVI recalled the unio n of Catholics in the whole world with the Church in China, for the Day of Prayer for the Church in China.
This special gathering is celebrated every May 24th, liturgical memory of the Blessed Virgin Mary of She-Shan in Shanghai.

"While the faithful in China pray that the unity between themselves and the universal Church may become ever deeper, Catholics in the whole world - and especially those of Chinese origin.”
The pope also spoke about the importance of the Virgin Mary in the Church and in the celebration of Pentecost.
Benedict XVI also referred to the Holy Spirit as a vital part of the Church.

“The Church lives constantly in the effusion of the Holy Spirit without which she would exhaust her energies like a sailing ship without wind.”
At the end the pope asked everyone to pray that all Catholics feel joy for being part of the family of disciples of Christ.
