six new cardinals Saturday morning at St. Peter's Basilica, bestowing upon them
the traditional gold ring and red crest.The new cardinals include:
Bechara Boutros Raï, Maronite Patriarch of Antioch, from Lebanon.
Ruben Salazar Gomez, archbishop of Bogota, Colombia.
John Olorunfemi Onaiyekan, archbishop of Abuja, Nigeria.
James Michael Harvey, from the United States. New archpriest of the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls.
Luis Antonio Tagle, archbishop of Manila, Philippines.
Baselios Cleemis Thottunkal, Major Archbishop of Trivandrum of the Syro-Malankara in India.
