Benedict XVI spoke about the success of the Year for Priests and said priests are a gift for the Church.
“These men leave everything to dedicate themselves entirely to the service of Christian people, following the example of the Good Shepherd.”
The Pope also recalled the beatification of Manuel 'Lolo' Lozano Garrido, a journalist who died in Spain in 1971, whom he called an example for all the journalists in the world.
“In him journalists will find eloquent witness of the good that can be done when the pen reflects greatness of soul and places itself at the service of truth and of noble causes.”
Benedict XVI also remembered two other newly blessed: Polish Jerzy Popieluszko and Slovenian Lojze Grozde.
