February 22, 2010. Like every year, the pope has chosen Lent season as the time to start his spiritual exercises. This year’s mediations will take place in the “Redemptoris Mater” chapel at the Vatican.

“On the day we begin our spiritual exercises, I ask the Virgin to intercede in my behalf and in especially in behalf of my colleagues of the Roman Curia.”

During the 6 day mediations, they’re reflecting on the topic of the Year for Priests under the title “The 'Lessons' of God and of the Church on the priestly vocation.”

Typically the meditations are lead by, bishops or cardinals but this year they will be directed by the Salesian priest, Enrico dal Covolo.
