June 11, 2012. (Romereports.com) The Pope gives speeches almost every day. But in this one, some Vatican insiders believe he was indirectly referring to the leak of confidential documents, also known as the Vatileaks scandal.
It was during a speech he gave at the Vatican to students of the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy.
The students are hoping to be future nuncios and employees of the Vatican's Secretariat of State. The first virtue, the Pope mentions is faithfulness.
Benedict XVI“God’s faithfulness is the key to, and the source of, our own faithfulness. I would like today to remind you of precisely this virtue, which well expresses the unique bond existing between the Pope and his direct collaborators, both in the Roman Curia and in the Papal Representations.”
In addition to loyalty, the Pope also talked about having a
personal and trustworthy relationship with the Vicar of Christ. It's a bond of inner confidence, that's developed over time. As a third point, he talked about the need to full inform the Pope. Doing so, will enable him to know and understand the flock entrusted under his care.
