YoutubeJune 9, 2011. (Romereports.com) The Archdiocese of Boston has opened a cause for canonization for Father Joseph Muzquiz. He was one of the first Opus Dei members to begin apostolic activities in the United States.

Father Muzquiz was born in Spain in 1912. In 1944, he became one of the first three men to be ordained as a priest for Opus Dei.

He went on to help with the Opus Dei beginings in Canada, Japan and Venezuela before his death in 1983 in Massachusetts.

His cause for canonization begins with the collection of evidence proving his heroic Christian value, which will then be presented to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints.
