October 18, 2012. (Romereports.com) The Synod on the New Evangelization is divided into many stages.
The first one, which is based on exchanging ideas, has been completed. Now the next stage, deals with finding concrete proposals to deal with the challenges faced by the Church.
Canadian Cardinal Marc Ouellet talked about one of those challenges. The Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops, said there is often disagreements between bishops and the religious. He said
that clash is sometimes caused by a lack of understanding. But for the New Evangelization to be a true success, he says unity is key.
The
President of the Focolare Movement, Maria Voce, who leads one of the biggest movements, agreed that unity is essential as the New Evangelization is communicated throughout the world.
MARIA VOCE
President, Focolare Movement“Taking part in the synod is a very important experience. We are seeing more clearly, how the synod fathers appreciate Church movements and their spiritual goals, especially within the New Evangelization. They recognize them as gifts of the Holy Spirit that can revive communities and families.”The Synod will run until October 28th. The last week of the Synod will be dedicated to defining the conclusions of the meeting, so that the message can then trickle down to the laity.
