November 1, 2012. (Romereports.com) With the elections just a few days away, American Cardinal Sean O' Malley is using his Twitter account to reach out to Catholics in the state of Massachusetts.

His main goal is to educate voters on a controversial ballot initiative known as
'Question 2.'  If approved, it would legalize assisted suicide in the state.

His posts include comments like: “Physician Assisted Suicide means making pharmacists, doctors, nurses, family members, friends & society itself, accomplices in a suicide.”

But his posts aren't just personal comments. He also re-tweets popular articles that have been published in the Boston Globe and the New York Times.  He has over 6,000 followers and he has been posting something every day to encourage people to vote against the measure.  He says he will keep on doing so until election day on November 6th.

Social media is nothing new for Cardinal
O' Malley. The Boston Archdiocese recently launched several websites, including www.suicideisalwaysatragedy.org and YearofFaithBoston.org. Back in 2006, O'Malley became the first cardinal to launch a blog.
