YoutubeDecember 6, 2011. (Romereports.com) Cardinal Nicholas Cheong Jin-suk of South Korea turns 80 on December 7. His birthday marks a turning point because he loses his voting power in the event of a papal conclave.

The number of elector cardinals then drops to 110. Cardinal Cheong Jin-Suk will then join the 83 other non-voting cardinals that make up the Vatican's 193 living cardinals.

Cardinal Cheong Jin-Suk has served as the Archbishop of Seoul since 1998. Benedict XVI elevated him to a cardinal in 2006.
