October 6, 2011. (Romereports.com) The Council of the Bishops´ Conferences of Europe has re-elected
Cardinal Péter Erdő as their president. Cardinal Erdő originally took
over the position in 2006 and will now serve a second term until 2016.
The conference known as the CCEE is made up of 33 different bishops' conferences throughout Europe. Cardinal Erdő is just one of them, representing Hungary as the Archbishop of Budapest.
Taking over the role of vice president for the CCEE is Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco, the Archbishop of Genova and the president of the Italian Episcopal Conference. He will be sharing the poistion with the president of the Polish Episcopal Conference, Monsignor Jozef Michalik.
