CARD. PHILIPPE BARBARIN
Archbishop of Lyon (France)
16th of February, 2005
“Unity is a challenge for the Third Millennium. Above all the unity of Christians and inter-religious dialogue. The second issue to take into account is the distribution of resources in the world. We don't want to emphasize the differences in the world, but we need to show that the Gospel is a  source of hope in all the world.”

He was named Archbishop by John Paul II in 1998 and made Cardinal in October 2003. He is a man of  great discretion. He says he's encouraged by the dialogue with Muslims and the Jewish community
