YoutubeMarch 15, 2013. (Romereports.com) The House of Clergy is a Vatican owned residence, where priests can stay when they visit Rome. It's a somewhat plain building on Via della Scrofa, but now it's the talk of the town, since Pope Francis stayed here before the conclave.

Monsignor Azeglio Manzetti was his neighbor. Cardinal Bergoglio stayed in room 203 and Manzetti in room 201.

“He always greeted everyone, and he would talk to all of us. He's a very simple person. Yesterday he stopped by to pay the bill.”

Manzetti says something else that struck him was the the Pope picked up his own bags. On his free time, he sat along with other guests, and not in the reserved, separate hall rooms.

“I saw the Pope coming in when he was still a cardinal, before he left for the Conclave. He's a very natural person. He would go up to his room, then come back down to have dinner. He would humbly ask: Is this seat taken?"

For now, Pope Francis still lives at the Vatican's Casa Santa Marta, where he was staying as the conclave began. In the coming days he will officially move to the Papal apartments.
