“What the Pope wants to highlight is the figure of Christ as the center of history and heart of human life. He wants to highlight the teachings of Jesus Christ, which is particularly in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. In a way it's like the last fruits of Vatican II.”
Mons. Gonzalez Errazuriz has been bishop since 2003. He says for Catholics, developing and nurturing faith is very important. For the coming Year of Faith, he recommends focusing on the catechesis.

“The most important thing is the central doctrine of the Church on Jesus Christ, the Holy Trinity, the Sacraments, the life of prayer, the commandments, it's all in the Catechism. People shouldn't distance themselves from that because it's the revelation of truth, God gave to man.”
