February 26, 2010. These young minds want Lent season to mean something, to be a point in time that will change their lives. That’s why they’ve decided to spend more time closer to God.

For the next 40 days, this church in Rome, which isn’t too far away from St. Peter’s Square, will leave its doors open 24 hours a day. It has been organized by the Catholic movement
Jesus Youth.
People from all over the world, particularly young people, are taking turns making sure there is also someone in the presence of the Eucharist. Groups come from the United Kingdom, Austria, Switzerland and Germany. They will take turns reciting prayers every 6 hours. Other teens who live in Rome will also attend.

“For me is very important to do not only the physical fasting but also the spiritual fasting. You can really get away from bad habits or from things that keep us away from God and turn to God’s things”.
The minds behind this grand initiative want to pray specifically for the pope’s intentions, the situation in the West and unity among Christians.
