August 10, 2012. (Romereports.com) The Archbishop of Westminster, Vincent Nichols and the Archbishop of Birmingham, Bernard Longley, have given their own 'stamp of approval' to these special edition Olympic and Paralympic stamps issued by the Royal Mail to remember the 2012 Games in London.
Archbishop Nichols noted that like the Olympics, “postage stamps have the ability to draw people together, nationally and internationally,” saying “stamps remind of the important values which are the foundation for the Olympic Games”.
So far the Games have been viewed as a huge success with a memorable opening ceremony and the country's ability to accommodate the number of visitors. The closing ceremony will be held on August 12th, bringing an end to the XXX Olympic Games in London.
