March 22, 2011. French author Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt directed the movie “Letters to God,”
an adaptation of his own novel “Oscar and the Lady in Pink.” The film
released in Spanish on April 15.
It tells the moving story of Oscar, a 10-year-old boy who is terminally ill. Both the doctors and his parents are afraid to tell Oscar the truth about his health. Only Rosa, a former boxer, tells Oscar about his condition. Rosa suggests to Oscar to live every day as if it were 10 years of his life and to tell his experiences to God through letters. Oscar and Rosa become close friends, and both of their lives are changed.
