October 19, 2011. (Romereports.com) The European Court of Justice announced a ban against placing a patent
on any stem cell process that involves the destruction of the human
embryo.
The announcement was well received by different Christian groups including the commission of Roman Catholic bishops conferences in the European Union. They said the decision shows fertilization as the biological beginnings of the person.
The decision effectively means that there can be continued research on stem cells but further developments could not be implemented in Europe.
