November 3, 2012. (Romereports.com) The Synod for the New Evangelization which took place in Rome brought together bishops from around the world. Attending the meeting at the Pope’s invitation were also representatives of other Christian denominations with the goal to promote an exchange of experiences and viewpoints.

Among the invited participants was Bishop Sarah Davis who participated as a representative of the Methodist Church.

“Pope Benedict XVI has invited fraternal delegates, of which I am one, and we come of other communions outside of Catholicism and yet we feel that there are some things that we took and share about sharing our faith.”

Bishop Sarah Davis represented all the Methodist churches, which are also concerned about the new evangelization.

“I had the opportunity to share in the name of the world Methodist council our views on the New Evangelization. We've been involved in it for some time now. We share the things we see to meet the people where they are, and sharing the good new of Jesus Christ.”

The main themes the Methodist Church presented at the Synod drew a need to draw close to those who feel alienated and to remember the importance of 'leading by example', that is, consistency in explaining the faith to those who have fallen away from it. Also during those days the non-Catholic, fraternal delegates also expressed their interest to spread the message of faith to those who have no longer consider belief in God.
