
June 17, 2010. Benedict XVI met with the General Director of the Legionaries of Christ, Alvaro Corcuera, behind closed doors.
The Order of the Legionaries is waiting for the appointment of a pontifical delegate to lead the Order.
According to a statement from the Congregation, Alvaro Corcuera has thanked the pope for his 'fatherly care' and has confirmed 'unconditional loyalty' of the Legionaries of Christ.
The statement ads that Benedict XVI accompanies them 'closely' with his prayers.
At the beginning of May the Vatican published a report about the double life of the founder of the Legionaries of Christ and Regnum Christi, Marcial Maciel.
In it was the announcement that the delegate appointed by the pope would work with a commission to study the internal norms of the Order. Also, it stated that charism should be redefined and to revise the way of leadership within the Order. It also asked for members to maintain their enthusiasm and faith through adequate formation.
