German orchestra performs for the Pope in Castel Gandolfo

August 3, 2009. The Bavarian Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra offered a concert in honor of Benedict XVI at the papal summer residence in the town of Castel Gandolfo, Italy.

Renowned international conductor Albrecht Mayer directed the German orchestra which performed musical compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach, Benjamin Britten and Wolfgang Amadeous Mozart.

Benedict XVI enjoyed the concert with his brother Monsignor Georg Ratzinger.
