March 7, 2013. (Romereports.com) Hundreds of people joined the College of Cardinals at St. Peter's Basilica to
pray for the upcoming conclave. While they could have done it from home, they say they wanted the cardinals to see and feel their support.
“It's a wonderful thing to see the cardinals praying together so close to the tomb of Peter and bringing the for thing before the Lord Jesus Christ. It gives you great confidence that Christ has always taken care of bishops ever since the Papacy of Peter.”
“It was very simple, and very touching because it was a prayer from the heart because the world needs a Pope to give us strength to move youth forward across the world. Someone that can bring peace and preaches peace even if no one is listening. We need to pray to the Lord to give peace to this person.”
“It has been a prayer full of peace, a healthy tension as we await the election of a new Pope. The whole Catholic Church was represented. The cardinals themselves, they all come from all parts of the world.”The prayer service took part on
Wednesday evening. It included praying the rosary and an Eucharistic adoration.
