July 10, 2011. (Romereports.com) Dublin is getting
ready to host the 50th International Eucharistic Congress, from June
10th
to the 17th,
2012. Their website
www.iec2012.ie
is already up and running.
There, users can find all
types of information, from registration to volunteering and making
donations.
The website has
recommendations on accommodation and it also has a few promotional
videos. The president of the congress is Archbishop Diarmuid Martin
from Dublin. He included a prayer on the site and as far as the
official song, it sounds like this.
Facebook and Twitter, is
also a great way to keep up do date with the conference, or one could
subscribe to the newsletter.
The theme this year is
“The Eucharist: Communion with Christ and with one another.” This
is the second International Eucharistic Congress to be held in
Dublin. The first one was in 1932.
All events from the
10th
to the 16th
of June will take place at the Royal Dublin Society. The closing
ceremony will be in Ireland's biggest stadium called Croke Park.
