YoutubeApril 1, 2011. Caritas Internationalis has announced that one of their kidnapped employees has been safely released in the Ivory Coast. Fr. Richard Kissi was abducted on March 29 by a group of armed men while he was driving to evacuate seminarians after violence had broken out in the area.

The motives and identities of the kidnappers are still unknown, but Caritas has expressed its gratitude to have Father Kissi back in his role as the organization's director in the capital of Abidjan.

The Catholic aid organization has been busy passing out food and providing health care to the thousands of displaced persons in Ivory Coast and Liberia. The UN estimates that around 500,000 people have been forced to leave their homes.
