YoutubeApril 26, 2011. (Romereports.com) A relic containing a sample of blood from John Paul II, will be handed to the Pope during his  beatification ceremony. Days before John Paul II's death, doctors drew blood from the Pope, when preparing for a transfusion. The samples were kept in four small containers.

When they were not used, his personal secretary at the time, now Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz, kept two of the samples. The other two remained at the hospital Bambino Gesu of Rome, which belongs to the Vatican.

The blood is still liquid, since an anticoagulant compound was added to the containers.
