YoutubeDecember 27, 2012. (Romereports.com) Benedict XVI started off the month of June in Milan for the World Meeting of Families. The Pope asked for more help for families and urged for solidarity with those most in need. He also shared a few of his childhood memories.

BENEDICT XVI
"At home it was important, of course, when we ate together. And then we sang a lot, my brother is a great musician, he has done compositions since childhood for all of us, and the entire family would sing together. My father played the harp and sang, they are unforgettable moments."

For another year, following the tradition of John Paul II, the Pope led the Corpus Christi Procession through the streets of Rome, between the basilicas of St. John Lateran and St. Mary Major.

The Vatican hired at the end of the month American journalist Greg Burke as a media adviser. With this addition, the Secretariat of State reinforced its communication strategy, a topic that had come under scrutiny in recent months in regards to the Vatileaks scandal.

After the strong earthquake that damaged the Italian region of Emilia Romagna, the Pope showed his support for the victims by traveling to the region and meeting in person with those affected.

BENEDICT XVI

“At this moment, I hope that each one of you, can feel the Pope close to your heart. Not only to comfort you,  but mainly to encourage and support you.”

During the month of June, the Pope also received a few unusual gifts, such as this small electric car.
