October 25, 2012. (Romereports.com) (- ONLY VIDEO -) Lefebvrian Bishop Richard Williamson has been expelled from the Society of St. Pius X. In a statement, the Society states that Williamson had distanced himself throughout the last years, showing little respect, or obedience to his lawful superiors. It's because of this that the Society says, it was forced to take this painful yet necessary measure. The Bishop made international headlines, when he downplayed the extent of the Holocaust in a televised interview.
After Williamson was told of his expulsion, he was given a time line
to declare his submission. But according to the statement, he responded
with an open letter where he asks the Superior General to resign.
For
years now, the Vatican and the traditionalist group have tried to reach
an agreement so that the Society of St. Pius X can be in full Communion
with the Church. So far, the negotiations have been unsuccessful.
