October 23, 2011. (Romereports.com) It was during the ceremony of canonization of three new saints: the Italians Guido Maria Conforti and Luigi Guanella, and the Spanish nun Sister Bonifacia Rodriguez. The man who climbed the colannade was heard saying "Hey Pope, where is Christ?".

He was later identified as Iulian Jugarean and he reportedly burned a Bible. The pope's personal bodyguard and the bishop Giuseppe Sciacca, from the Vatican governatorate, tried to conviced Jugarean to stop and before he was arrested.

Pope Benedict XVI continued the Angelus was most likely unaware of what was happening on the colonnade.
