As he greeted the crowd , the Pope bore a traditional Mexican hat, known as 'sombrero.' This will be the first Mass the Pope celebrates in Mexico. March 25, 2012. (Romereports.com)(-ONLY VIDEO-) On Sunday, the Pope boarded a helicopter as he made his way to Guanajuato's “Cubilete Hill.” The mountain holds a historic 72 foot statue of Christ, which honors the thousands of Mexican martyrs, known as 'Cristeros,'
who died while fighting for religious freedom in the 1920's. Thousands
of people greeted the Pope on the hill, as they waited to celebrate

Once he arrives to the airport in the city of Santiago de Cuba he'll be greeted by president Raul Castro. The Pope is now on his way to Latin America. Before boarding the plane,
Benedict XVI walked with the support of a black cane on his right hand.
Apparently it's the first time he's used a cane in public. The
Pope began using a cane a couple of months ago, in private. Vatican
officials were quick to point out that the Pope decided to use a cane to

As in every trip, key Vatican officials will travel along with the Pope on that plane. It will be a Boeing 777 Alitalia plane with 116 people on board.
