Italy gets ready for the coming 'Rimini Meeting' organized by the Communion and Liberation movement

June 7, 2012.

(Romereports.com) Every year, in the Italian city of Rimini, one of Italy's most important cultural events takes place. It's called 'Rimini Meeting,” which is organized by the Catholic movement “Communion and Liberation.”

The meeting has been taking place for over 33 years now. It's a way to promote harmony, peace and friendship among people with different religions and cultures.

Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, who serves as the Prefect of the Congregation for Oriental Churches, talked about all the last minute details.

This year the theme is “By nature, man is relation to the infinite.”

Aside from speakers, the meeting usually includes prominent politicians, artists,  intellectuals, religious leaders and entrepreneurs.  For example, this time around the list includes the founder of the first neo-natal hospice at New York's Columbia University.

It will take place from August 19th to the 25th.  Through its website, ROME REPORTS will be providing daily coverage in both English and Spanish, of all the key events.
