Catholic Link: New Evangelization on the Web

November 15, 2012

(Romereports.com) There are plenty of websites nowadays that deal with religion and God. One of them is 'Catholic Link.' But among so many, this website stands out for its visual appeal, humor and also for its credible information.

MAURICIO ARTEIDA
Co-Founder, Catholic Link

“One day we posted a video of Messi, the soccer player. It's interesting because when a player commits an infraction against him, he never falls or acts out. He's a good example of perseverance, which is a fundamental virtue of Christian life.”, said Mauricio Arteida, the co-founder of 'Catholic Link'.

Founders of Catholic Link say religious websites need to focus more on faith and every day culture. That way, young people will be more curious about Christianity.

“There's a need for more websites that focus on faith and culture. That way faith isn't reduced to something private, or something we live on during Sunday Mass. We need videos that aren't strictly religious, but that also deal with real life situations we can encounter everyday.”

DANIEL PRIETO
Co-Founder, Catholic Link

“The New Evangelization is also about acknowledging these new dimensions, these new realities, tools and opportunities that allow us to bring the Word of God, directly out to people.”

When looking for videos on Youtube, one can often feel overwhelmed. But Catholic Link tries to make things simple, by dividing videos into categories, followed with a brief explanation of each.

DANIEL PRIETO
Co-Founder, Catholic Link

“We think Youtube is a great resource. It has a lot of positive material, but up until now, no one had really picked and stored key videos from there. Videos that could eventually be used for ministry.”

Just another example of how the New Evangelization is extending its reach in the digital age.
