Animals pay a visit to St. Peter's Square for celebration of their patron, Saint Anthony

January 17, 2013

(Romereports.com) (-ONLY VIDEO-) Horses, cows, rabbits and peacocks were among the species present for the traditional blessing of St. Anthony at St. Peter's Square.

A majestic horse parade cut off traffic for a few minutes as they made their way through the Via della Conciliazione. Cardinal Angelo Comastri, archpriest of St. Peter's Basilica, blessed the animals and freed a white dove, asking for peace.
