(Romereports.com) During the catechesis for the Angelus, Benedict XVI cited the prophets as an example of the defense of truth,
even if it pitted them among the majority of those around them. He
added that during Jesus' time on Earth, he strove to give testimony to
God's truth, not to reach consensus among the people around him.
BENEDICT XVI “Jesus
reminds us that being a prophet is no easy task, even among those
nearest to us. Let us ask the Lord to give each of us a spirit of
courage and wisdom, so that in our words and actions, we may proclaim
the saving truth of God’s love with boldness, humility and coherence.”
Sunday was also Italy's World Day for Life and
Benedict XVI summed his support to the Italian bishops' message that
the best answer to the current crisis is the defense of the family and
life.
After the Angelus, Benedict XVI issued a Tweet to his followers asking them to imitate the Virgin Mary in accepting the word of Jesus in their lives.
