Universi Dominici Gregis, the law for the conclave

(Romereports.com) (-ONLY VIDEO-) John Paul II unified all the rules regarding the Sede Vacante and the conclave within the Apostolic Consititution Universi Dominici Gregis. Signed on February 22, 1996, the judicial document will without a doubt help navigate the process developing in the coming weeks. Benedict XVI issued a motu propio to modify one of the articles. According to the change, to be elected Pope, a candidate must always receive two thirds of the votes. The old article, allowed for election by simple majority after 27 ballots.
